Good Practice for Parents/Guardians
Before the racing
Make sure the bike is in good working order . Children who are 13 or over during the year need to ride a track bike, a selection are available to hire for a nominal fee.We can help you learn how to ride a track bike if you have never ridden one, talk to Mandy for advice or if you have any problems.
A helmet is a must, make sure it fits!
Get a British Cycling licence www.britishcycling.org.uk
Register as a member of the West Riding Track League www.cycleroundhay.co.uk
On the night
Arrive in good time to enter and sign on
Have the right entry fee; check the web site for this year’s fee.
Put number on correctly, it helps the judges
Make sure you take a programme for the evening and then ensure the child is on the start line for their race in good time
You can hold the child up for the start but no BIG PUSHES!!
Clear the track as soon as you can, safely
After the racing
Return numbers to signing- on window
